Who run the world? Girls! We’re all about celebrating fabulous and fierce females every day at Pink Boutique, so we’re delighted that International Women’s Day is here so we can dedicate the whole day to girl power. We think that every single lady out there is amazing and deserves to be celebrated so it’s definitely one of our favourite days of the year. We run through some of our fav females that give us daily inspo, and encourage us to slay all day.
Queen Bee
She’s been celebrating us Independent and Single Ladies for decades, encouraging girls of all ages to be the ultimate boss babe. Say it Beyonce,
"I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let's face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what's sexy. And men define what's feminine. It's ridiculous."
Jennifer Lawrence
J-Law is proof that you can be a Hollywood goddess and still be human. We love that she rocks the red carpet looking like a superstar, but could totally be your mate and support you through everything.
"I'm never going to starve myself for a part. I don't want little girls to be like, 'Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I'm going to skip dinner.' That's something I was really conscious of during training, when you're trying to get your body to look exactly right. I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong — not thin and underfed."
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn was the original blonde bombshell but she was certainly more than a pretty face and her legacy still lives on today. Marilyn didn’t just want fame; she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress. She was forward-thinking, smart, loving, sexy, and talented.
“Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition.”
Jade Jones
If you, like us, were loving Celebs Go Dating, you’ll probably have had a girl crush on Jade Jones, who with two Olympic gold medals and an MBE under her belt by the age of 24 is not to be messed with. She’s shown that hard work and determination can get you where you need to be in life. She’s also not going to waste her time with just any man, you’ve got to earn it.
Ariana Grande
Following the horrific terrorist attack at her Manchester concert Ariana Grande emerged as a heroically powerful woman, acting in a way that any one of us can only hope we would in such circumstances. She has really shown herself to be a true role model, a real professional, and a truly compassionate person. Which boss babes make you proud to be female on International Women’s Day?
